#BlackLivesMatter: Artistas se posicionam após morte de George Floyd

No dia 25 de maio, George Floyd foi morto pelo então policial Derek Chauvin, que manteve seu joelho sobre o pescoço de Floyd durante quase 9 minutos, sendo que após os primeiros 6, Floyd já estava desacordado.

Agora os EUA enfrentam dias seguidos de manifestações pedindo justiça por George Floyd e à outras vítimas negras desarmadas mortas pela polícia norte-americana. O movimento Black Lives Matter chama atenção para o racismo presente na brutalidade policial contra vidas negras e todo o sistema político racista.

Neste domingo (31), um episódio histórico: a capital dos EUA, Washington, D.C, teve diversos pontos de incêndios e a Casa Branca, pela primeira vez na história, teve suas luzes apagadas. Trump, presidente dos EUA, foi levado às pressas para um bunker subterrâneo após manifestantes protestarem em frente à Casa Branca.

Artistas de muitos cantos do mundo tem expressado apoio ao movimento, inclusive no Brasil. Celebridades estão usando sua voz e plataforma para ajudar, seja indo às manifestações como linha de frente, seja oferecendo advogados aos que forem detidos, seja divulgando informações importantes para manifestantes.

Artistas latinos também estão presentes. Muitos deles, por morarem nos EUA, estão indo aos protestos de suas cidades. Lauren Jauregui foi uma delas.

Camila Cabello, ao lado do namorado Shawn Mendes, participou dos protestos em Miami. A cantora ainda revelou que ligou para o governador de Minnesota, estado em que Floyd foi assassinado, para cobrar justiça.

Nas redes sociais, outros artistas latinos expressaram sua indignação e apoio ao movimento Black Lives Matter. Residente, Rosalía, Jennifer Lopez, Luis Fonsi e tantos outros nomes de destaque expressaram indignação e apoio.

There are not enough words to express the millions of emotions Ive been feeling as a member of the overall minority community, but most importantly as an ally to the black communities that have and still are being directly affected by past and present events.
