Em janeiro deste ano, o iHeart Music Awards anunciou os indicados da premiação que aconteceria em março, em Los Angeles. Com a pandemia, o evento foi primeiramente adiado, mas depois a organização optou por cancelar o evento físico, revelando os vencedores nessa terça-feira (08).
Além das categorias exclusivamente latinas, Rosalía e Daddy Yankee apareciam em Melhor Clipe, decidido por votação popular. Porém, quem levou esse prêmio foi o grupo BTS em sua parceria com a cantora Halsey, Boy With Luv.
Portanto, os vencedores latinos ficaram só nas categorias exclusivamente latinas. Con Calma, de Daddy Yankee na versão com Katy Perry, venceu na categoria de Melhor Canção Pop/Urbana Latina. Ozuna, por sua vez, venceu como Artista Latino do Ano. Rosalía, que ainda era considerada uma artista revelação, venceu na categoria onde concorria com Camilo, Guaynaa, Lunay e Sech.
Há também as categorias dedicadas ao regional mexicano, onde Christian Nodal venceu como Artista Regional Mexicano do ano.
