Um dos álbuns mais famosos do Metallica completa 30 anos em 2021. Conhecido popularmente como Black Album, o material contém vários sucessos da banda como as baladas Nothing Else Matters e Unforgiven, além de outras várias faixas queridas pelo público como Sad bu True e Enter Sandman.
Para comemorar o 30º aniversário do disco, que marcou uma geração, o Metallica não só lançará uma nova versão remasterizada como também um novo álbum com 53 artistas cantando suas canções preferidas do material. Intitulado The Metallica Blacklist, são mais de cinquenta convidados de diversos gêneros musicais, gerações e continentes, como por exemplo Juanes, que sempre foi um grande fã do grupo.
A receita das vendas, downloads e streams serão destinadas igualmente entre instituições de caridade que os próprios artistas escolherem e para a All Within My Hands Foundation, do próprio Metallica.

Quem comprar o material na pré-venda recebe a versão Enter Sandman, cantada pelo colombiano, e Nothing Else Matter, cantada por Miley Cyrus, WATT, Elton John, Yo-Yo-Ma, Robert Trujillo e Chad Smith. Ambas músicas dão “o tom” do material completo.
O interessante da tracklist é que diversos artistas cantam uma mesma música em diferentes releituras. Por exemplo, além de Juanes, quem também canta Enter Sandman é Mac DeMarco, Weezer, entre outros.
